I worked a winter season managing social media for Snow Rental Queenstown, a locally run ski rental store in a highly competitive market.

With many rental stores in Queenstown, the goal was to position the brand as laid-back, friendly, and approachable — focusing on building a sense of trust and connection with customers rather than a traditional sales approach.

Through testing different content styles, I found that short-form reels performed best, particularly those showcasing behind-the-scenes maintenance and authentic in-store interactions. This content was supported by regular weather and mountain updates, local tips, and fun, engaging posts that reflected the brand’s personality.
